Kalshi vs Polymarket. Which one actually pays more?

Kalshi or Polymarket: which is cheaper? Compare verified YES prices, see a dated price snapshot and learn how fees affect the total cost.

New here? Buy YES at 40% (40¢). It pays $1 if the outcome happens, $0 if it doesn’t. A lower price means your $100 buys more contracts.

Payouts assume YES and include your original stake, before fees. Prices can change.

How to compare prices

Lower % means a cheaper YES price. Green marks the lower valid price; ties are labelled. Displayed prices are rounded to whole percentages, while comparisons use exact quotes. Payout examples show the total returned on $100 if the outcome resolves YES, including your original stake. If it resolves NO, you receive $0. Examples exclude fees and assume the full $100 buys at the displayed price.

Which venue was cheaper in our latest snapshot?

Counted from the last verified snapshot of 981 outcomes priced above 2% on both venues, 10 Sep 2026, 23:52 UTC. A lower YES percentage is the cheaper side of the same contract, so the same $100 buys more of it. This is one moment, not a running record, and it does not predict which venue will be cheaper on the next contract you look at.

The average gap between the two venues on the same outcome is 2.0 percentage points. Where the gap is wide, the same stake buys materially more contracts on one side than the other.

A further 281 outcomes were left out of that count because one venue quoted them below 2%. Kalshi prices in whole cents and cannot quote under one, while Polymarket prices in fractions of a cent, so on a long shot Polymarket is almost always nominally cheaper — 0.4% against 1% — and counting those would say more about tick size than about either venue. If you are buying long shots, that difference is real and it favours Polymarket.

What a larger price difference means

A wide gap on two contracts that settle identically is rarely free money. It usually means one side is thinly traded, so the quote moves the moment anyone acts on it. Check the available price and trading volume before acting on a difference.

Check fees before choosing a venue

Both venues can charge trading fees. Polymarket charges taker fees on fee-enabled markets; other markets are fee-free. Every price on this site is the quoted cost to buy YES before fees. A lower quoted price does not necessarily mean a lower total cost after fees.

We do not model venue fees or guarantee that a full $100 position can fill at the displayed quote. Check the current Kalshi fee schedule and Polymarket fee documentation for the market you intend to trade.

Which markets do we compare?

We price Kalshi and Polymarket, and we only pair two contracts after reading both venues' resolution rules and confirming they settle the same question. Robinhood, DraftKings Predictions and FanDuel Predicts are not priced here yet, so no number on this site claims to represent them. Prices are shown as the market's percent chance and show the cost to buy YES at the stated update time, before venue fees.
